Spring
Spring is a season that comes after winter and before summer. During spring, lots of flowers begin to grow and the weather becomes warmer.
She loved to walk outside in the spring and look at all the beautiful flowers.”

blossom
Blossom means to open into a flower. Many flowers begin to blossom during spring, when the weather becomes warmer.
She noticed the flowers in her garden were beginning to blossom.

clover
A clover is a plant with three leaves. Clovers are sometimes called shamrocks.
He saw five little clovers when he walked through the field.

season
A season is a certain part of the year that has specific weather conditions. There are four different seasons during the year: summer, fall, winter and spring.
Her favorite season is spring because the weather becomes warmer.

 

 

 

flower
A flower is a type of plant that has seeds. There are all different types of flowers, and many of them have beautiful colors and shapes.
Her favorite kinds of flowers are daisies.

umbrella
An umbrella is an object used to protect people from rain, snow or sun.
He opened his umbrella when it started to rain.

rain
Rain is water that falls from the clouds in the sky.
It started to rain so the children had to go inside the house.

seed
A seed is a small plant part that gives life to a new plant. Many seeds need to be buried in soil, and receive water and sunlight before they grow.
She planted the seed in her garden.

 

 

What is a Word Wall?

 

A word wall is a collection of words used to teach vocabulary, spelling, letter-sound correspondence, and more. Word walls are not simply décor; they are works in progress designed to promote learning.

We will be adding new words and activities to our word wall each month. You will find the words, their definitions, a symbol for the word, and sentences using the word on the board. Talk about them with your children.  Do the activites.  Have fun with words!
